(Spa facility opens April 2009. Spa services available until then) Relax, refresh your mind, rejuvenate your body, and cleanse your soul. Treat yourself to a number of signature treatments and benefit from both modern spa technology and the millenary wisdom of the Mayan people. The Ya’ax Ché Spa’s philosophy is based on the Mayan belief that we are all connected to each other and to nature. In order to restore balance, one must return to nature to find harmony within. All spa treatments seek to restore energy by reconnecting your spirit, mind and body. |

90 minutes. Ya’ax Ché Spa is one of the few spas offering a traditional Mayan purification and relaxation experience called “temazcal”. The name temazcal comes from two Nahuatl words: temas, which means bath, and calli, meaning house. This traditional Mexican sweat bath was used for centuries for curative and therapeutic purposes. It balances both body and spirit and is especially important when preparing for special events, such as marriage or other celebrations. Our ritual takes place in a specially built Nahuatl hut beside the sacred waters of Cenote Manatí. The cleansing experience is accompanied by traditional music and ends with an optional dip in the clear waters of the cenote. For your convenience, our spa also offers a wide variety of facial and body treatments, spa manicure and pedicure, as well as special spa treatments for gentlemen, hydrotherapy and beauty parlor services. |

Our spa valet will assist you throughout your stay at the spa facilities, which feature a co-ed Chill Out Lounge (our hydrotherapy circuit), his/hers changing rooms with sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, chromotherapy and Swiss showers, lockers, vanity amenities, and couples suites featuring hydrotherapy bath and Swiss shower, juice bar and boutique. Our Fitness Center offers the latest technology for sports lovers. On-site staff offer instruction on how to use the state-of-the-art equipment. |
