We start with a dinner of Mexican street-fair favorites and an equestrian show, accompanied by a special musical delight: Banda Sinaloense, a wonderful big band brass-based musical explosion of the best Mexican folk music and rhythms. To cap off the night, our expert DJ will keep the beats flowing and the dance floor hopping in the Sports Bar.

    TROMPO (Whipping Top)

The trompo is a round object with a pointed head and a string wrapped around the top. The participant throws the top and whips the string in just the right manner so that it spins. Playing trompo is not as easy as it sounds, but once you learn the techniques that we teach you in the trompo workshop, you won’t want to stop spinning!

    AVIÓN (Hopscotch)

Avión (hopscotch) is played by drawing numbered squares on the sidewalk with chalk in the form of an airplane. Each participant has to throw some kind of marker such as paper, a rag or a rock into one of the squares. Jumping on just one foot, the person whose turn it is has to jump into the other squares without touching or jumping into the square that contains his or her marker.

For those who like social gatherings and inter-mingling, good laughs and great conservations, we have prepared a very special patron saint celebration and collective dinner known as cenaduría. These open-air dinners always have a special feeling of unity, happiness and excitement to them, and they are a great way to honor love, friendship and great company.

  • El Santo Patrono 

It is a long-practiced custom in many towns in Mexico to celebrate a patron saint. In the Pop Culture Fest we are going to share this important cultural heritage with you.

  • Cenaduría (6:30 pm – 10:00 pm)

A cenaduría in México is a nocturnal event in which everybody comes together, typically outdoors, to celebrate an informal collective dinner. Here you will be able to enjoy diverse emblematic dishes in a typical Mexican environment.

  • Lucha Libre (7:30 pm – 10:00 pm)

Lucha libre in Mexico is folklore, fun, joy and colors. For our headline event, enjoy authentic lucha libre with 22 professional wrestlers in 5 rounds of wrestling.

  • Music & Dance Party (10:00 pm – 12:00 am)

When the lucha libre main event is over, join the DJ to dance the rest of the night away.
