Taste of Playa is a culinary festival in the heart of the Riviera Maya that draws its inspiration from the dreams of several local business owners and talented chefs who have made Playa del Carmen their home.

The international food festival establishes the Riviera Maya as a world class culinary destination. Taste of Playa was conceived from international food festivals in the United States, Europe, and Canada—including Toronto Taste. The event has added its own unique ingredients to the principles of this successful event. The distinctive flavors of regional food, the natural background of the Caribbean Ocean, and the undeniable talents of international chefs make this Riviera Maya event a true success.
The first year the event was held in September 5, 2009, the community event drew more than 3,200 attendees.
A portion of the event profits from Tasta of Playa will be donated to a food or clean water program that will contribute in developing and sustaining initiatives that have a positive effect in the Riviera Maya communities.
