Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park will host an unprecedented three day event in the Mexican Caribbean. The First Mayan/Tibetan Bicultural Encounter will bring together the Mayan and Tibetan cultures and share with us ancient wisdom and traditions to achieve spiritual peace and purification.
The First Mayan/Tibetan Bicultural Encounter will begin Thursday, September 8th, 2011 and will include activities from both cultures. The Tibetan Monks of the Drepung Loseling Monetary, Richard Gere Productions, Arte Maya Productions and Mary Coba Cupul will bring this experience to life through conferences, photography exhibitions from Tibet, workshops, meditation teachings, psychology, Tibetan and Mayan art, the sacred traditional Mayan Temazcal, and sacred music and dance. The Tibetan monks will also built a sand mandala that takes the monks into a state of tranquility in a process that lasts 3 to 7 days.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that will awaken the senses. The event seeks to teach us about the mysteries of the Mayan and Tibetan traditions as well as see the relationship between these two ancient cultures. Both share a profound relationship with the preservation of life and a deep connection with nature.
We invite you to become part of this unique experience which will change the way we perceive life while we learn more about ourselves and the value of peace and harmony.
