Green Globe Certification

The Green Globe Certification was established in 1993 for the travel and tourism industry.  As the premier worldwide certification label for sustainable management and operations, their aim is to introduce and strengthen environmental and cultural criteria and corporate social responsibility according to international best practices.

Sustainable Travel International

Sustainable Travel International was founded in 2002 to provide education and outreach services in the travel and tourism industry.  They promote sustainable development and responsible travel via programs for travelers and travel companies to contribute to the environmental, socio-cultural, and economic values of the area.

Distintivo H

Distintivo H (or Distinctive H) was founded in 1988 by the Ministry of Tourism to promote healthy tourism in México through the implementation of exceptional food safety and quality standards for food service providers.  It enforces recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) for food service provider hygiene, and safe food and beverage storage, transportation, preparation, and services.

SEMARNAT Model for Sustainable Tourism
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales, SEMARNAT) is a federal government agency which main purpose  is to promote the protection, restoration and conservation of ecosystems and natural resources, as well as  environmental goods and services,  in order to promote their sustainable use and development.
